In my opinion, this is the most important book published this year! The disastrous pontificate of Pope Francis has caused immense confusion in the Church and this book offers a prudential, and reasonable perspective on how Catholics should cope with the consequences. 'Christus Vincit', Bishop Athanasius Schneider in interview format with Life Site News' Diane Montagna, offers a perfect prescription for Catholics who recognize there is a problem in the Church and want to fight for the true Catholic faith.

The book consists of four parts. The first part which covers the first 29 pages of the book briefly covers the life of Bishop Schneider. When you read about what he and his family went through during the scourge of communism it will make you appreciate what you have here in the US regarding access to the Sacraments.

Part II of the book is called, 'The Sun Shall Be Darkened'. It consists of chapters on secularism, Islam and religious indifferentism. Schneider connects the dots between secularism and religious indifferentism. Freemasonry, Satanism, and anthropocentrism are all addressed in relation to the collapse of Western Civilization and the issues in the Church.

Part III is titled, 'The Moon Shall Not Give Her Light.' Chapters include Loss of the Supernatural, Vatican II, Papal Power, the SSPX, and Doctrinal Confusion among others. Schneider is bold in this chapter holding no punches back concerning the problems with the Second Vatican Council. He quotes from Archbishop Lefebvre pointing out how few listened to his reasonable criticisms during and after the Council and how his predictions of spiritual disaster have taken place. He also points out how Vatican II not being a dogmatic council is subject to reform and correction by a future pope.

Part IV, 'The Stars Shall Fall From Heaven' makes up the last hundred pages or so of the book. Here Schneider covers important theological topics such as the Holy Eucharist, the Liturgy, Clergy, the Family and Fatima. Here the prudent bishop offers hope for the future of the Church. The Appendix of the book contains a 'Declaration of Truths' which Schneider thinks is necessary to proclaim due to the confusion in the Church.

If you are concerned about the direction the Church is heading, this is one book you need to read. Hold on and do not leave the Church or go off the deep end! There is hope and there is a prudential way to view this crisis. Get the book and defend and resist!
